One of my little clients in showing an interest in fine motor play. He likes to concentrate on tasks which involve the small muscles in his hands & fingers in coordination with his eyes such as drawing, stacking, posting & placing rings on a mug tree

I reused the top of the box from a Grapat set and made a little post box with holes just big enough to fit our felt balls and our wooden rings & coins. The bottom of the box is open so the children can retrieve the objects they post through. I also reused another Grapat box to collect the rings & coins

We have all enjoyed playing posting games and lifting the box to see where the objects have gone. Miss 6 challenged herself to see how many objects she could fit through the holes. Mr 19 months loved emptying the boxes and the felt bowls over his head and watching the objects fall over the floor 😍 What a great sensory experience! And with such beautiful resources to handle, I never mind tidying up their play!
